Tinā is a powerful, inspirational crowd pleaser about the healing power of music.  It is the story of Samoan teacher Mareta Percival a teacher and mother, struggling after the death of her daughter in the Christchurch earthquake reluctantly takes on the role of substitute teacher in a wealthy private school and is surprised to find children crying out for guidance, inspiration, and love. Using the symphony of her culture to empower her students, she forms a choir, bringing them together while unexpectedly rediscovering her passion again for being a teacher and mother.

Thank you to those who came and enjoyed this iconic musical sing-along event.  We appreciate your support of our fundraiser and the Hamilton Community Gospel Choir.   We sold 212 tickets and filled two theatres. It was a great night out!

Join us this August, for our Annual Concert, which will be packed with an abundance of energy, that well-known heart, and of course a great vocal sound with something for all ages and tastes.
Pieces to be performed range from the artists: the Mississippi Mass Choir, Chicago Mass Choir and the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, to Cain, CeCe Winans, Tori Kelly and the Waikato’s very own Te Rautini.
The choir is delighted to be finally bringing to the Waikato a concert after a gap of several years, and have a great line up of soloists including Yolande Jooste and Debbie Shepherd, each bringing their unique style.
