A little about ourselves

The Hamilton Community Gospel Choir (HCGC) is a Christian community of faith in Hamilton, New Zealand, who loves to sing and harmonise together for our own and others spiritual encouragement and entertainment. Our choir’s repertoire includes music and song in the traditional gospel genre, but also embraces other contemporary gospel music which expresses Christian faith. 

The choir is overseen by a Trust Board, who along with a wider collaborative team provide leadership and direction for the choir’s activities. 

​The choir membership ranges between 45 to 60 singers who are passionate about what they do, volunteering their time, energy and talent for the benefit and enjoyment of the wider community.  The choir delight in sharing the joy of music and song wherever opportunity allows.  People in the choir have made lifelong friends and often consider choir members part of their extended family.

​Well our You Will Be Found Concert was held on Sunday 14th September, and it was a wonderful night. ​We have had a lot of great feedback from the audience and the choir certainly had a lot of fun.  You can see some audience recorded snippets on our Facebook page and we are already looking ahead to next year and what we will bring you then.​


Our Christmas season gets underway at the end of November/beginning of December, and we are pumped for all the gigs we have lined up - our schedule is now full.

​We would love to have you join us at one of those sing outs, so check out our Event Calendar for where we will be and find a time to join us.

​Have you been thinking about joining a choir, or more specifically joining the Hamilton Community Gospel Choir?  We would love to have you come and check us out at our practices on Tuesday nights, with a view to joining us.  We are about to conclude practices for 2025 but do come join us in the New Year, as we recommence at 7pm on the first Tuesday in February (the 3rd).   Head on over to our Contact Us page and be in touch to let us know you are coming, and/or to seek more information about joining the Hamilton Community Gospel Choir.  ​
