A little about ourselves
The Hamilton Community Gospel Choir (HCGC) based in Hamilton, New Zealand is an interdenominational choir of all ages, made up of people who love to sing gospel style and present the love of Jesus Christ through song.
The choir is dedicated to presenting the music of God to the people of Hamilton and Aotearoa (New Zealand) and overseas, as opportunities allow. We welcome every opportunity to entertain and inspire our community with a contemporary range of music, mostly in the gospel style, along with providing a place for local songwriters and soloists to bring their music to the stage.
The choir ranges between 35 to 50 singers and members are passionate about what they do, volunteering their time, energy and talent for the benefit and enjoyment of the wider community.
The choir is run by a trust board of volunteers and is led by Sue Shepherd (Musical Director) who receives a monthly stipend for the additional responsibilities and time commitment she contributes.
People in the choir have made lifelong friends and consider choir members part of their extended family.
We are now well underway for the 2016 year and have had two performances so far - one at Hilda Ross Retirement Home and then in the Waikato Hospital Atrium....See our Event Calendar for upcoming events - we hope to see you at one or more of them.
Contact us if you are interested in joining the choir or you would like to request a performance.
